Blumea balsamifera
Shrubs to small trees, 0.5–4 m tall; stems erect, tomentose. Leaves petiolate, elliptic to lanceolate, 5–32 by 2–12 cm, apex acute or acuminate, base attenuate or obtuse, margins serrulate to serrate, usually with upcurved teeth, rarely dentate or lacerate, coriaceous, bright green, upper surface rugose, pubescent with multicellular and glandular hairs, lower surface tomentose or rarely densely woolly; petioles 1–4 cm long, with 4–6 pairs of appendages, 6–15 mm long. Inflorescences terminal and/or axillary, large, loose, spreading panicles, 7–30 cm long. Capitula 4–7mm diam.; peduncles slender, 2–10 mm long; involucres campanulate; phyllaries 4–5-seriate, outer lanceolate, 0.4–0.5 mm wide, acute with densely pilose hairs, inner linear, scarious with ciliate margins, pilose; receptacle 2.5–3 mm diam., slightly convex, alveolate, glabrous. Marginal florets yellow, basal tube 4.5–6 mm long, glabrous. Disc florets yellow, basal tube 4–7 mm long, glabrous, lobes oblong-lanceolate, 0.3–0.4 mm long, pubescent with glandular hairs; anthers 0.8–2 mm long, apical appendages round, bases with branched tails, anther-tails equal to, or longer than anther collars; style arms 0.9–1 mm long, base swollen. Achenes oblong, 5-ribbed, 0.8–2 mm long, 0.2–0.3 mm diam., pilose; pappus 18–20 bristles, 4.5–5 mm long, reddish, persistent.
